Drs Demajo Dental Clinics is a family run dentist in Malta, offering all of the modern treatments available in the dental world, ranging from restorative dental treatment to the latest in cosmetic dentistry, dental implant surgery and tooth whitening procedures.
Pasquale Demajo founded Drs. Demajo Dental Clinics in 1919. He travelled to Philadelphia (USA) in 1908 and learnt the trade of a dental technician and furthered his knowledge in the dental profession by assisting the high street dentists. On his return, he was among the first registered dentists in Malta.
Twenty-five years later, two of his children graduated in Dental Surgery at the University of Malta. They furthered their training at Guy’s Hospital (UK) and North Western University (USA) and specialised in Orthodontics and Prosthodontics. Together, both brothers established the first specialist dental clinic on the island. Dr Anthony Demajo married Appolonia, the daughter of another dentist: Anthony G. Ciappara. Their son, Pascal, continued the family tradition and graduated in 1971. He expanded the clinic facilities to incorporate a fully equipped dental laboratory also servicing other dentists in Malta and Gozo. In fact Drs Demajo Dental Clinics is the foremost dental practice on the islands with its own laboratory and to enjoy such on site facilities. Both Pascal’s children, namely Dr Michelle and Dr Jean Paul followed their two grandfathers’ and father’s footsteps and graduated as dental surgeons in Malta and in London respectively.
Dr Jean Paul Demajo furthered his studies, graduating with a Masters of Science in Implant Dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute University of London.
Seven years ago a second clinic was set up in Ta’ Xbiex and equipped with the latest state of the art dental equipment. Today the group practice includes four fully qualified Dental Surgeons, one Implant Surgeon, six Dental Nurses, and four full time Dental Technologists.
The dental clinic in Malta
The ambience at the dental clinic is a friendly one. The clinic set-up is especially designed to put all patients at ease especially anxious ones to keep regular appointments. They offer ‘Injection free’ treatments like Ozone therapy that sterilizes teeth and prevents caries. Treatment under sedation with the help of an anaesthetist is also an option either at the clinic with or at one of the local private hospitals.
Drs Demajo Dental Clinics is the only one in the Maltese islands that is complemented by a fully equipped on-site dental laboratory. This minimises completion dates and ensures the best aesthetics possible of all dental prosthesis including crown and bridgework, acrylic resin and chrome cobalt dentures.
Patients’ satisfaction and the quality of service provided are of paramount importance to their team!

An area of interest at Drs Demajo Dental Clinics is the planning of Implants using digital techniques. This procedure requires a CT scan of both the patient bone morphology and a replica of the teeth needing replacement.
Using a specific programme called Nobel Guide, www.nobelguide.com, one can plan the number, angulation and dimension of implants so as to offer the best aesthetic result. A custom-made surgical guide is then ordered from Nobel Biocare to facilitate the placement of the implants in the planned position. There are no incisions or sutures minimising post-operative discomfort and swelling to the patient. The optimal placement of the implants allows the Implantologist to place temporary teeth on the implants offering the patient an immediate aesthetic result.
This procedure can be utilised for a single or multiple implants although it is more popular in edentulous cases (no teeth in either of the jaws) whereby 4-6 implants are inserted in the jaw and immediately loaded with 10 to 12 temporary teeth. Four to six months following the implant insertion the temporary teeth are converted to permanent teeth ensuring the best optimal aesthetics.
